French Exchange 2009

From Friday, 9th October to Saturday, 17th October, 39 students and 4 teachers from Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Horncastle experienced life with French  families. The exchange, which has been going for more than 10 years, takes place with students at a Collège in La Suze and a Lycée in Allonnes, two towns which are not far from Horncastle’s twin town of Bonnétable.

After spending the first weekend with their French families, the party undertook various day trips to Paris, Le Mans and Angers, where they visited a mixture of historic monuments, museums and a factory, as well as the famous circuit of the Le Mans 24 hour race.

Students also attended lessons with their French partners for a morning and presented their book recommendations to the school libraries as part of the book exchange: French students who come to Horncastle in March will each bring a French book of their choice for our school library, so that students who do not participate in the exchange visit can also benefit from the links between the schools.
