Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School has started putting into action a variety of projects to help make the school more environmentally friendly gaining us an Eco-Schools Silver Award!

There is currently a campaign by staff and students to conserve energy by turning off lights and closing doors, etc.
  • We recycle our used printer cartridges
  • We recycle our old computer equipment by donating it to charity
  • We also have paper recycling boxes in most classrooms
  • We recycled unwanted mobile phones for charity
We plan to begin recycling uncooked food waste from the Food Technology department by starting a compost heap in the 6th form garden.

This is in addition to the planned Eco-Shop which will be run by our 6th form students, selling recycled and ecologically friendly products. We are also looking into the exciting prospect of using recycled paper in our printers and photocopiers.

eco_products.jpgThe Eco-Shop is proud to introduce a whole range of fun, stylish and eco-friendly stationary just for you. Available for purchase are pens, pencils, rulers, colouring crayons, notebooks and pencil cases at   affordable prices. Each item is recycled from car tyres, computer equipment, paper and polystyrene cups!

The Eco-Shop is open at break times on  Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays
